We present to your attention the second edition of the rating of the eegions of Kazakhstan - for the 1st quarter of 2021. The rating is focused on an objective assessment of the activities of local executive bodies.

The methodology, data for the calculation, the number of indicators and the calculation itself have not changed. In the current release, 10 out of 20 indicators have been updated, of which 9 are quarterly and 1 annual.

As in the previous release, none of the regions was able to score 100 points. Atyrau region retained the 1st place, gaining almost 75 points. The North Kazakhstan region is on the 2nd place, having taken off at once by 6 positions in comparison with the previous quarter. The city of Nur-Sultan closes the top three, having improved its position by 1st place. Aktobe region dropped from 2nd place to 4th. Pavlodar region is on the 5th place, having risen from 6th place. The Zhambyl region is next, which has risen by 3 positions in the rating. The top-7 is closed by Almaty, which was in the 3rd place in the previous issue.

The public version of the ranking provides data on the first 7 regions for each indicator. Data from other regions will be provided only to regional leaders for further internal analysis. This is done in order to ensure a constructive perception of the rating.
